Telekom Malaysia Renews IP-Core Network Support with Magellan
Kuala Lumpur, 1st November 2015. Telekom Malaysia renews global Juniper maintenance agreement with Magellan for another 3 years. Telekom Malaysia (TM) is the largest integrated communications solutions provider in Malaysia, and one of Asia’s leading Telecoms companies, with an estimated worth of RM13.9 billion (4.3 Billion USD) and a workforce of over 26,000 employees. TM runs a best-in-class IP/MPLS core network infrastructure that spans across the globe offering an extensive range of data, voice and bandwidth products and services. (TM’s IP-Core Network).
TM’s IP-Core Network consists of Juniper ‘M’ Series Multiservice Edge Router nodes (M320 & M120 models) expensively housed in data centres in Bahrain, Egypt, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States – 15 countries / 20 cities / 28 sites in total.
Since 2009, Magellan working in close partnership with Aexis Technologies based in Kuala Lumpur, has significantly helped TM to reduce their annual operating costs by providing TM with our signature capability – a cost effective ‘feet on the street’ IT network maintenance service. Coordinated centrally via Magellan’s 24x7x365 Global Service Centre (GSC) based in Singapore. And using only high calibre, proven Juniper field service engineers, who bridge local language, political and cultural divides.
Engineering Scope:
- 24 x 7 x 365 network engineer standby coverage, with flexible ‘cost per call’ intervention model with guaranteed 2 hour (Category A), 4hr (Category B), or 8hr (Category C) on site responses depending upon the severity and nature of the intervention request.
- Interventions vary from scheduled activities such as upgrades, site audits, preventative maintenance (Category C) to emergency outages (Category A).
- All Magellan IT Field Engineers on this contract are Juniper JNCIS or JNCIP certified with 3-5 years of experience. Magellan has a global partner database containing over 2,000 IT Field Engineer’s accreditation details which is constantly reviewed and updated.
Replacement Juniper ‘M’ Series hardware and spares are provided by Juniper’s Smart Spare maintenance service via Juniper in country distributors. Magellan’s GSC coordinates with Juniper TAC and Juniper Smart Spare distributors during interventions requiring additional or replacement hardware.
